Bolivarian Government deployed security operation for Second Popular National Consultation 2026

From the headquarters of the Strategic Operational Command, the Deputy Minister of Prevention, Citizen Security and Peace Quadrants, G/D Endes Palencia, accompanied by the institution's general commander, M/G Rubén Darío Belzares, led a videoconference with the directors of the Public Security Organs (OSC), the commanders of the Strategic Regions for Integral Defense (REDI) and Defense Operational Zones Integral (ZODI), the zone commanders of the Bolivarian National Guard (CZGNB) and the National Risk Management System, ahead of the Second National Popular Consultation 2026.

During his speech, Deputy Minister Palencia urged the authorities to provide the necessary logistical and operational support for the transfer of personnel and the protection of the more than 11,495 authorized electoral centers throughout the country, where the people will attend to choose from more than 37,205 popular projects.

He also reported that these actions are carried out in support of the National Electoral Council (CNE), as the governing body, and as part of the planning of the Ministry of People's Power for the Communes in the 4,218 previously established communal circuits and communes.

On the other hand, he urged participants to remain alert to possible unforeseen meteorological events or failures in public services, recommending that they have immediate contingency plans to address any situation.

The occasion was appropriate to review active security devices, including the 82nd edition of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, aimed at the protection, custody and safety of players, referees and the fans that participate in these traditional events of the Venezuelan State.

In this regard, he also announced the safeguards for the Five Baseball Pan American Championship in Lara state. Likewise, the planning for the IV National Community Sports Games, the XII National Youth Sports Games and the IV Paranational Games was evaluated.
