On a day of reforestation within the framework of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, the Ecosocialist Management Team in Yaracuy planted 500 trees of forest species of bucare and cedar, in the Campo Elías parish in the municipality of Bruzual.
The species were planted in priority areas of the Quebrada Grande sub-basin and the La Puente micro-basin, vital for water conservation and biodiversity in the region, according to the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC).
According to the MINEC, to complement the reforestation, 3,000 channels (seeds with substrate) were dispersed in hard-to-reach areas that will promote natural regeneration, for a total coverage of 1.5 hectares between plantations and dispersion.
