Crews of workers from the Miranda state government and the Guarenas mayor's office are carrying out cleaning work within the framework of the Risk Mitigation Plan.

These are cleaning works for the El Tamarindo and Quebrada Seca ravine, which represents an outcry from popular power in the face of the imminent arrival of rains and which in turn are part of the actions that form part of the 2026 Rain Plan, as a preventive measure and which systematically addresses an estimated 800 prioritized points distributed in the 21 municipalities of the Mirandina entity.

The governor of the state of Miranda, Elio Serrano, and the mayor of Guarenas, Antonio Galíndez, provided details of the actions taken to carry out the cleaning and channeling of the Trapichito ravine, an opportunity in which he stated that “we are working to prevent floods, we are waiting for Miranda's safety.”

Additionally, it was learned that the intervention in the Trapichito ravine contemplates a stretch of more than six kilometers from the El Piñal, Gueime and Ruiz Pineda sector and involves the removal of sediments and the extraction of 4,500 cubic meters of material in a stretch of 300. More than 60 men and women from service crews participate, using jumbo equipment and a backhoe, managing to remove more than 200 trucks loaded with sediment. These works directly benefit more than 4,000 families in the “Trenches of the Revolution” commune, which brings together 17 community councils in the sector.
