Through the stream cleaning plan being developed in Barcelona, 73,830 linear meters of open canals have been cleaned up in different sectors. During these days, 20,690 tons of waste have been removed, including mixed waste, plastics and rubbers.

The information was provided by the local government, which detailed that cleaning work is carried out both manually and mechanically in 128 channels to ensure the collection and final disposal of plant waste and sediment.

The actions are part of the flood prevention and mitigation actions that have been carried out for four years in the Simón Bolívar municipality, in order to guarantee the hydraulic capacity of these drains and thus avoid overflows that cause damage to communities.
