The Bolivarian Government carried out a technical inspection day in the municipalities of Muñoz and San Fernando in the state of Apure, with the purpose of evaluating the critical areas impacted by previous climatic periods and establishing the road map for the comprehensive rehabilitation of infrastructures prior to the start of winter.

During the tour of the vulnerable areas, the government team thoroughly evaluated the state of the access roads and hydraulic protection systems.

In this regard, the sector vice-president of Public Works and Services, Jorge Márquez, emphasized the importance of preventive planning, in which he pointed out that these supervisory actions on mitigation works are crucial in the ten weeks prior to the estimated return of rains.

He stressed that joint work between the Ministries of People's Power for Transport and Public Works and the regional executive is the key to strengthening the State's resilience to hydrometeorological phenomena.

During the inspection, the Minister of the People's Power of Public Works, Juan José Ramírez, announced the execution of major engineering solutions in strategic sectors.

” The construction of a road variant designed to counteract the erosion caused by the riverbed on the main road. In addition, obsolete metal structures that no longer fulfill their technical function will be removed, thus allowing the construction of a new protective wall and an alternative road to ensure the passability and protection of the population of San Fernando de Apure,” he said.

For his part, the governor of the entity, Wilmer Rodríguez, detailed the strategic activation of four simultaneous work fronts that cover a large part of the Apurea geography.
