The governor of the state of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, inaugurated this Monday the Dialysis Unit of the Type I Hospital El Piñal, a healthcare space that will have an impact on several municipalities in the area and that has the capacity to treat approximately 420 patients every month.

“This is one of the most important clinical units in the south of the state of Táchira, inaugurated in recent years. This hemodialysis unit has the capacity to impact several municipalities beyond the state. The Guayanito municipality of the state of Mérida, the Andrés Eloy Blanco municipality of the state of Barinas, the north of the state of Apure and of course the entire south of the state of Táchira,” Bernal explained in a television show with the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez.

He indicated that patients from the north of Barinas, north of Apure, areas far from Táchira, “had to travel 5 and 6 hours to San Cristóbal and then 5 and 6 hours back, which meant, in addition to the pathology, a very difficult journey for these compatriots.”

He stressed, then, that with the installation of this hemodialysis unit, “thanks to the efforts of our revolutionary Government, time will be saved so that patients can share with their family and, most importantly, quality of life.”
