The Bolivarian Government, through the Sectorial Vice Presidency of Public Works and Services and the Ministry of the People's Power for Water Care (MINAGUAS), maintains an intensive deployment in Operation Turimiquire, specifically in the Guamache tunnel in the state of Sucre, in order to guarantee the stability of the water system in the east of the country.
Currently, a multidisciplinary commission made up of more than 100 workers is carrying out critical tasks to remove sediments and debris along the 12.5 kilometers of this important infrastructure.
The Sectorial Vice President of Public Works and Services, Jorge Márquez, reported that these actions seek to optimize the tunnel that connects the Turimiquire reservoir with strategic areas, which will directly favor:
Sucre State: Cumaná, Marigüitar and Araya.
Nueva Esparta State: 45% of the communities of the island entity.
For his part, the Minister of the People's Power for Water Care, Carlos Mast Yustiz, stressed that specialized crews are currently dealing with a significant blockage of solid material that prevented the normal flow of vital liquid.
It is estimated that the work will last for the next 72 hours to reactivate the service safely and efficiently.
With this technical and human deployment, the national Government reaffirms its commitment to the progressive recovery of drinking water service for all Sucrense and Neo-Spartan families, and is working continuously to restore the distribution cycle in the shortest possible time.
