The Bolivarian Government of Monagas state provided more than 3,000 treatments and implements for insulin-dependent patients registered in the Metabolic Endocrine Program.
The coordinator of the Cardiovascular, Renal, Metabolic Endocrine, Tobacco and Vision Program (CAREMTV), Asdrúbal Idrogo, said that this action is part of the social protection policy guaranteed by President Nicolás Maduro and that the entity has the absolute support of Governor Ernesto Luna.
Idrogo added that these donations are directed by the Ministry for Health, and are made on Thursdays, every 15 days, at the Cardiovascular Center of the East “Dr. Miguel Hernández”.
It was also known that patients withdraw drugs to cover doses for at least 120 days and are summoned for a new delivery by calculating the time corresponding to the delivery cycle.
“It is essential that patients with these pathologies have the treatment, otherwise in a short time they would decompensate and increase their blood glucose levels, which can lead to diabetes mellitus and the complications that this entails,” he added.
