The Venezuelan Embassy in Egypt held a working session with a group of journalists from traditional, digital and alternative media, as part of the process of attracting and attracting new tourist markets.
The activity was led by Ambassador Wilmer Barriento, who stressed the importance of having a communication wing in the strategy initiated to position Venezuela in the global tourism market and, for this reason, the Venezuelan Government seeks to work with a group of journalists who are experts in the area to support the development of tourism in the country.
“We are determined to diversify our economy and have created 13 engines to drive our economic transformation, and one of them is tourism,” he said.
He emphasized that they are working to position the Venezuelan tourism product internationally to offer the world its benefits as a multi-destination country.
This is why he presented the Strategic Plan 2025-2031, prepared by the Ministry of Popular Power for Tourism (MINTUR), which focuses on the relevance and development of Venezuela's identity and cultural sovereignty through tourism, in order to promote it as an axis of economic growth.
In addition, he pointed out that, despite the media campaign that distorts Venezuela's international image, important advances have been made and is projected as a country with great tourism potential, betting on innovation, the preservation of identity and economic development based on its natural and cultural wealth.
He stressed that, in support of this new strategic vision, there is a Guide prepared by MINTUR as a tool to promote the promotion and positioning of Venezuela as a first-rate tourist destination.
In this regard, he specified that, based on this line of action, the Embassy manages the implementation of FAM TRIPS (familiarization trips) and PRESS TRIPS (press trips), which allow representatives of the Egyptian tourism sector to be brought to Venezuela and, within this framework, “we must identify tourism agencies, bloggers, influencers and airlines, in order to promote an approach for our tourism promotion,” he added.
“We are working to expand bilateral cooperation in order to make the best use of our tourism potential,” he reaffirmed, highlighting all these actions to promote tourism in Venezuela in Egypt.
