In order to transform the economy and promote the country's productive independence, a strategic alliance focused on the industrialization of the mineral magnesite was signed in the state of Nueva Esparta, between the Ministry of Popular Power for Industry and National Production, together with the Military Anonymous Company for Mining, Oil and Gas Industries (CAMINPEG) and the governance of this entity.

The agreement was concluded between the Minister of Popular Power for Industry and National Production, Alex Saab and the governor of the state, Marisel Velásquez, as part of the promotion of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda and the strengthening of Special Economic Zones (SEZ).

Magnesite, declared a strategic mineral by the National Executive, will be processed to supply key sectors such as the steel, ceramic and pharmaceutical industries, replacing imports and generating added value from the heart of the island region.

This action marks the beginning of a new phase for Nueva Esparta, which is projected as a national reference in the transformation of strategic minerals, to consolidate its role in the construction of a productive, independent and anti-imperialist Venezuela.
