More than 1,820 inhabitants of the community of Ciudad Cartón, Nueva Esparta state, will benefit from the reopening of the Dr. Rafael Morao Popular Office.

According to information published on the web portal of the newspaper Últimas Noticias, the intervention is part of a recovery plan for the island's 88 outpatient clinics.

Among the works carried out on site, the following stand out: roof waterproofing, general wall remodeling and painting, and complete renovation of electrical and hydrosanitary systems.

In addition, the spaces were equipped with air conditioning, LED lighting, new furniture in all areas and a rest area for on-call staff.

The governor of the entity, Marisel Velásquez, said that this inauguration is part of the plan for the accelerated recovery of primary health infrastructure, through which three have been reinaugurated in recent weeks.

Finally, he urged communities to participate in the upcoming popular consultation, “I invite the 64 communal circuits that live in the Bolivarian state of Nueva Esparta, we are going to empower ourselves.”

For his part, the mayor, Eneas González, stressed that “we now have a popular office with all the necessary conditions to serve our people... it integrates all the forces from the municipal, regional and national governments to have the necessary number of doctors”.
