The Bolivarian Government of La Guaira provided resources to some 600 projects selected by the communities during the National Popular Consultation held on March 8.

This was announced by the governor of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán, who indicated that the allocation of funds benefited the entity's 80 communes and communal circuits, with special emphasis on infrastructure initiatives and programs aimed at meeting needs prioritized by the population.

He noted that investment is part of the financing strategy promoted by the National Executive to strengthen citizen participation in the definition and execution of community works.

Among the projects favored are environmental initiatives developed by community organizations. Community spokespersons said that the resources received will make it possible to expand recycling programs through the purchase of work equipment and implements.

For his part, the Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, indicated that the funding allocated to the projects amounts to 5.6 million dollars, with contributions from the national, regional and municipal governments.

Regional authorities also called on communities to prepare for the next National Popular Consultation, scheduled for July 12, with the objective of continuing to promote projects aimed at local development and collective organization.
