Traffic between Apure and Barinas resumed this Thursday, at night, with the opening of the bridge built in Bruzual, after heavy rains caused the collapse of the road that linked both regions.

“The passage between Apure and Barinas has been restored! At this time, priority is being given to loading fuel, gas, medicines and food,” said the Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, noting that this Friday, starting at 6:00am, the passage was enabled for all vehicle traffic.

Recently, the governor of Apure State, Wilmer Rodríguez, stressed that “The installation of the war bridge not only addresses the emergency immediately, but also represents a firm step towards the recovery of road infrastructure and the strengthening of community resilience in the face of climate shocks.”

Regional authorities remain deployed in the affected areas of Apure, to provide comprehensive care and ensure the well-being of the population. “It was great teamwork done in 15 days!” , said Velásquez Araguayán.
