The plan to reactivate MERCALES and PDVALES continues the rehabilitation of commercial establishments to stabilize the family economy in communities across the country, said the Minister of Food, Carlos Leal Tellería, from the state of Lara.

“We came here, to Carora, to rehabilitate and hand over to the people their MERCAL and PDVAL, supermarket-type establishment number 151 and we are heading towards 416, so we are working hand in hand with the instructions of our president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, with love and prosperity,” he said through the cameras of Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

From the Carora branch, the new store offers all the food, vegetables, fruits, animal protein, cereals and basic food items, “but something very important: at truly supportive prices, nobody beats it”.

He confirmed that in the markets families will get prices below 30, 40 and up to 70% of what is offered in the traditional food market.

“So this public food distribution network joins that great marketing machinery in the hands of the private sector, accompanying, bringing products to our people at very affordable prices,” he said.

He also reported in Lara state, 18 of these establishments have been rehabilitated and he committed to serving the majority during this year.
