With the objective of promoting its use as an area for tourist, commercial and fishing activities, the Bolivarian Government began the rehabilitation of the Port of Mapire, located in the parish of the Monagas municipality of the Anzoátegui state.

The project directly benefits about a thousand fishermen and producers from Las Vegas del Orinoco (islands) and other nearby municipalities, dedicated to the production of cotton, corn, beans, caraota, patilla and auyama, among other items.

Among the works carried out by the workers, the construction of a retaining wall stands out to prevent water erosion at the bases of the ramp, and the access road is being repaired.
