The Bolivarian Government began replacing 120 meters of submarine cable, in order to provide reliability and stability to the Caribbean Mall electrical circuit in Puerto La Cruz, Sotillo municipality of Anzoátegui state.

The works are carried out by the Ministry of Popular Power for Electric Energy, through the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC), with the support of the regional government, on the navigable channel of El Paraíso, located in the El Morro Tourist Complex, a space shared by the municipalities of Sotillo and Urbaneja.

This cable feeds directly to the Caribbean Mall shopping center, as well as to the urban areas Doral Beach, Puerto Morro, Isla Paraíso, Pueblo Viejo, Esturión, Punta Marina, Terramar, Las Canoas, Fransiski and Golf Plaza, among others.

It also supplies energy to the Maremare Hotel, the golf course and nearby businesses, benefiting more than 4,500 users.

The Secretary General of Government, Katiuska Homsi, inspected the maneuvers and highlighted the importance of this project to improve public service conditions in both jurisdictions.

“We are strengthening electrical infrastructure in key areas of the tourist and residential axis of Anzoátegui,” he said.

To replace the 500 MCM three-pole conductors, with more than 40 years of useful life, a new overhead line was carried out from the substation to the pier (approximately 2 kilometers), adaptation of channels and installation of new cables in each circuit.

The assembly extends from the El Paraíso substation to the Lechería substation, as part of a complementary work that will strengthen electrical connectivity for more than 3 kilometers, through a combined air, submarine and underground system.

Additionally, a new arrival booth is being built at the opposite end of the pier, intended for the distribution of the underground system, which will make it possible to optimize the electricity supply in this strategic area of the state.
