The BRICS countries, at the end of the Summit held this Sunday, July 6, in Brazil, reaffirmed their proposal to reform the Security Council of the United Nations (UN).

One of the heads of state who emphasized the most was the president of Brazil, Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, the current president of the forum, reported on his website Venezuela News.

In this regard, he confirmed the importance of the emerging countries that make up the BRICS, such as Brazil, having a permanent seat on the UN Security Council, and this is only possible with reform.

Russia and China called for the inclusion of Brazil and India to play a greater role in the decisions of the Security Council.

On the other hand, regarding the Ukrainian conflict, the BRICS leaders in the joint statement expressed their hope of reaching a peaceful agreement.
