BRICS Development Bank authorizes the incorporation of Algeria

Algeria has joined the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB), a statement from the North African nation's Ministry of Finance confirmed.

Hours later, the president of the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB), Dilma Rousseff, reported that Algeria was authorized to become a member of this multilateral development bank.

The accession was largely due to the strength of the economy of that North African nation, which will be able to make resources available to finance sustainable development projects in emerging markets, as well as its integration into a global financial system independent of hegemonic powers and the dollar.
