The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, assured that the red awning does not feel arrogant after the electoral victory of July 27, when he won 285 mayors out of the 335 contested.
Durante a press conference, Cabello specified that “here is the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, we don't feel arrogant, at all, because of the victory; on the contrary, we express it with great humility, with a lot of constant self-critical review to correct, to review. These victories strengthen us, yes, but they must also strengthen us spiritually for everyday battles, in order to have strength”.
He also recalled that Venezuela faces the “most powerful empire of all time”, so it is necessary to prepare the awning for the next stages.
In addition, he reiterated the call of the Venezuelan Government and People to continue “here, humbly, demanding that they hand over all the children who are kidnapped, there, in the United States, demanding the release of Venezuelans unjustly detained in the United States, that the persecution against Venezuela cease and we will continue to demand that they return our resources that have been stolen from banks and gold bars that they hold from Venezuela.”
Regarding the electoral process, he ruled that “when a people come out to vote, since they came out to vote right now in the last two elections, they are sending a message to the world. Whoever doesn't want to see it, is going to crash into reality!
