Flights from Colombia to Venezuela are suspended until further notice, due to the discovery of a new terrorist plan by the extreme right that is intended to fill the country with violence during the elections on May 25, said the Minister of Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón.

In this regard, he noted that the decision of the National Government was taken after it was discovered that, from the border with the neighboring country or through regular flights, attempts were being made to introduce mercenaries into Venezuelan territory.

“To date, we have succeeded in arresting 38 new mercenaries who intended to generate violence in the country. Among those arrested are 17 foreigners and 21 Venezuelans. Those captured include explosives, coyotes (for human trafficking) and mercenaries,” he stressed while stating that many of them intended to enter the country as tourists.

In the same way, during a press conference held this Monday, he pointed out that the ultra-right leader María Corina Machado is linked to this new conspiracy and is financed with money from Colombian drug trafficking. “Colombian drug trafficking is led by Álvaro Uribe, Iván Duque and Juan Manuel Santos,” he said.
