The sectoral vice-president for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, said that starting April, all the country's communes should have their own Peace Quadrant.
“In April, we must have the entire Venezuela complete with Quadrants for the 5,336 Communes that exist so far; there must be 5,336 Peace Quadrants to fulfill the instructions of President Nicolás Maduro and the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez,” he said during the Adaptation of Peace Quadrants in Trujillo.
Cabello stressed that the transformation is visible when the Peace Quadrants are installed in communities, and recalled that Petare was one of the first sectors to make that change.
“The first municipality in Venezuela where we installed the Peace Quadrants was the Sucre municipality in Miranda state. Today Petare is a land of peace: 246 cameras installed on every street, in communities, quiet territory; people go out at night at any time, there is no crime, crimes are over. And if a crime were to occur, the Peace Quadrants are there to act immediately, promptly and with justice,” he emphasized.
Cabello highlighted the impact this has had on the motivation of young people to enlist in the police. “We went from 7,800 requests to 32,000 requests from boys who want to join the police forces, but it has to be a different police, it has to be a people's police,” he said.
He stressed that whoever wants to be a policeman must wear the uniform with honor, dignity, courage and dedication. “It's the new police, the new model that we are building together with the People, in a perfect popular, military and police fusion,” he said.
