The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, said that in Guiana Essequiba there will also be grassroots meetings to nominate their candidates for legislators, deputies to the National Assembly (AN) and governor.
During the press conference of the National Directorate of the PSUV, Cabello Rondón assured that the nominations of candidates in Guiana Essequiba will be carried out in faithful compliance with the decision taken by the Venezuelan people during a consultation.
“Our original people are there,” he said.
He also recalled that everything west of the Essequibo River belongs to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. “We don't allow ourselves to be blackmailed by anyone and we don't deny participation to anyone,” he said.
He maintained that all those who live in that territory are Venezuelans and “we are going to give him their Venezuelan ID” because that is another of the terms of office.
On the other hand, he pointed out that the citizens who live there know that the attention they receive is from the Bolivarian Government, not from the ExxonMobil government of Guyana,” he emphasized.
Cabello said that there are those who claim to be Venezuelans but are willing to sell their souls to the devil and hand over that territory to ExxonMobil, “but as long as the Bolivarian Revolution rules here, that territory is and will continue to belong to Venezuela,” he added.
