The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, repudiated the association of the Venezuelan opposition with the government of Guyana and ExxonMobil to deliver our Essequibo.
“It's sad how the Venezuelan opposition defends Guyana instead of defending its country. This domestic opposition embodied by (Julio) Borges, those (Leopoldo) López, María Corina (Machado), all of them defend Guyana instead of defending their country, Venezuela. They became clear that they do not love this country,” he said during the usual weekly press conference with the red awning.
In this regard, he highlighted that the Venezuelan people voted last 2023 for Guyana Essequiba to elect a governor and other authorities, so this will be done on May 25.
“Now we are going to elections for governors, deputies and the Legislative Council there (Guiana Essequiba). They say they're going to go to the International Court of Justice, let them go. We will rely on popular sovereignty, which is respected in Venezuela. Nobody is going to impose a recipe on us, to tell us what we can or cannot do,” he emphasized.
In the same way, Cabello stressed that the PSUV and the Venezuelan people accompany and support all the steps that the National Government is doing to defend our sacred Essequibo territory.
