The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, denounced that television channels have always been mercenaries.
“The television channels were so mercenary, they are mercenary, because that can't be cured, that on the 12th in the morning a journalist on a television channel said: 'Here is the President's resignation, 'he never read it because there was no such resignation,” said Cabello, referring to the events of the coup d'etat 22 years ago against Commander Hugo Chávez.
In that regard, during the National Youth Forum, Become Aware of the Events of April 11, 12 and 13, he stressed that Commander Chávez never resigned.
“He had three options that he evaluated: going to Maracay, as some people proposed to him, but that meant that they would think he was fleeing; two, staying in the Palace and resisting with the people, but that was going to be a massacre because they were willing to do anything (...); and the President decided to give himself up because it was the third option (...), because he said: 'I prefer to be taken prisoner and to do what they have to do and we will have time to rebuild our force'; and that's how it was,” he said.
He stressed that the forces were rebuilt thanks to the People, deputies, deputies, soldiers and soldiers who took to the streets with love as a weapon.
