This Thursday, March 13, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, emphasized that in these elections the red awning will guarantee the active participation of youth, women and the parties of the Great Patriotic Pole on an equal basis.
“That parity is guaranteed there, the participation of youth is guaranteed, the participation of the Great Patriotic Pole with its cadres is guaranteed, unity is guaranteed,” he said during the PSUV press conference.
He referred to the fact that, in the tests, more than 60% of the candidates are women, “that doesn't complicate us at all, rather it gives us strength, because women are synonymous with order, discipline, honesty, dedication and a number of attributes, which sometimes, men, have to push us to do it, women do it once and they do it well”.
Regarding the commitment, he emphasized that all those who participate in the Assemblies are committed to respecting the results, “but after the candidates are appointed, in accordance with the regulations, everyone must sign a commitment to the Revolution, to the People, to the promotion of Popular Power, to the impetus of the Communal Councils and to the responsibility they have in each position, not to leave what were the temptations in the corruption of the bureaucracy and everyone must comply with the Government Plan proposal,” he added.
He reaffirmed that the signing of this commitment is what will make it possible to hold those who assume office to be held to account. “We have already done this in other processes and it has worked, where we detected something new and acted on the basis of that commitment,” he said.
“Being a candidate of the Revolution is not the same as being a candidate of the opposition; whoever is a candidate of the Revolution knows that he has a line of work and a discipline. And the first commitment they make is that they must respect the results and final proposal that come out,” he said.
