Since November 2025 and to date, a total of 895 people deprived of their liberty for being involved in crimes against the country's stability and peace have been released as part of the amnesty plan initiated by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

This was reported by the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, who stressed that this initiative was launched, unilaterally, by the National Government without the need for the intervention of any Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the church hierarchy or any foreign government.

In this regard, Cabello welcomed the Amnesty Law announced by the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, and expressed his aspirations for extremist groups of the Venezuelan right to take this initiative as an opportunity to “do politics as is, as appropriate.”

“Hopefully they understand and do politics as it is, without thinking about burning human beings alive, about murdering their own people, without thinking about burning down transportation systems, without thinking about assassinating the President, without burning health centers, cutting motorised throats, without thinking about bombing people. This Amnesty Law is an initiative of the National Government,” he emphasized.

In the same way, Cabello recalled that the first Amnesty Law that was approved in recent years was made under the command of the Commander, Hugo Chávez Frías. “In the pardons and the Amnesty Law, Commander Chávez included someone who doesn't learn, a damaged one, such as Leopoldo López,” he recalled.
