The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, said on Monday that the El Niño phenomenon and climate change affect the entire world.
“Heat, climate change and the El Niño Phenomenon are truly a disaster for the world and it is something that causes problems for the entire world,” Cabello said during his speech at the red awning press conference.
The leader pointed out that the planting cycles have been altered. He recalled that 20 years ago farmers prepared the land in March and April to sow with the first rain, a practice that was lost. He indicated that the animals have also seen their reproductive cycles modified, such as the case of turtles, which laid their eggs in April or the females that enter heat to give birth, whose times no longer match the usual months.
Cabello warned that the electricity issue, due to these natural phenomena, does not affect only Venezuela, but all of America, and that economic growth requires greater electricity generation.
