During the commemorative march for the electoral victory of October 7, 2012, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, urged the militancy to maintain unity in the revolutionary ranks and reaffirmed their full support for President Delcy Rodríguez.

“Today we have a great challenge: to continue to accompany Sister President Delcy Rodríguez on all fronts of battle, because it is the strength of a people that gives us a long breath,” said Cabello Rondón at the same time that he called on his companions to be together in the battle.

The general secretary of the PSUV highlighted the voluntary nature of the mobilization day, pointing out that the call did not include special privileges or protocols for the participants. “Today there were no special invitations for anyone; here is the one who wanted to march,” he said.

“The task now is to keep adding with our President at the helm, to keep adding up every day. When that adversary who is out there, who says he has 90% of the polls in Venezuela, is measured against us in an election—whoever and whenever—, we will be able to win again as the Chavista people win, as they won that October 7,” he said.

He emphasized that the revolutionary people have reasons to fight. “We want a world of equals, a world not of groups or where privileged people have benefits that others don't have. Hugo Chávez broke with that,” he said.

“What we know is to give a damn about it every day, starting early in the morning, of course, always united,” he reiterated.
