The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, assured that the country has managed to overcome “the most aggressive media war in recent years”, simultaneously facing the two earthquakes of June 24, in addition to a communication campaign that sought to misinform and generate chaos.

“The only country in the world that was going through two earthquakes at the same time and then had the other earthquake, after the media attack, was Venezuela, and we can say that we have been victorious in all those battles,” he said.

The leader rejected any attempt to compare the earthquakes that occurred in Venezuela with those recorded in Colombia. He pointed out that these are “totally different” events and questioned those who have promoted these comparisons.

“You're already wasting time with those influencers. It's not worth it. They don't care about the pain, they're very miserable. They can't compare anything. The facts are different,” he said.

The Secretary General explained that the first demolition in Catia La Mar was carried out under security protocols and with restricted access.

He said that, when they arrived at the site, the influencers, with their show, claimed that they would not let them in due to the measures applied by the security forces: “If they don't let me pass,” there can be no demolition (imitating the influencers). That phrase reminded me of that person who said that if she wasn't there, there were no choices,” he said.

He indicated that the operation was “a total and absolute success”, despite the fact that some influencers claimed that the building had fallen on another structure.

The leader stated that images were released showing that the fall occurred exactly at the planned point, without affecting nearby facilities.

“It was a perfect demolition. It was done in coordination with the families of the people who are in theory under the rubble. It was discussed and accepted by them,” he said.

Regarding the second demolition, also in Catia La Mar, he said that it was executed with equal precision: “It was so perfect that the influencers had to keep themselves, fold their tongues and put it in their pockets. None of them said anything or went over there.”

The Minister of Internal Relations, Justice and Peace also reported that another demolition is being evaluated in La Guaira, possibly tomorrow, depending on the correctness of the technical parameters.

“As in the whole world. It's a procedure. And you know what journalists do: they applaud. Here the miserable are going to try to see what is wrong in order to expose it, because they are the news, not what is happening.”

The leader reiterated that some influencers seek to “mispose the government and harm the people”, while the PSUV, he said, maintains its work in the communities.

“They are seeing how they misrepresent the government of the People. We are committed to continuing to work with our people.”
