Call for the 1st State Dramaturgy Competition is until May 4

The
National Theater Company (CNT) and the National Book Center (CENAL) reminded the theater
community that the call for the 1st State Dramaturgy Competition will
end next Sunday, May 4, 2025.
This competition, which seeks to encourage the creation of theatrical pieces in
the 23 states of Venezuela and the Capital District, is in its last
days of receiving proposals. The invitation is open to Venezuelan and foreign
writers residing in the country who have not been
published in the drama genre.
Those interested
must submit an unpublished and original play that has not been previously
awarded or performed at national or international level. The work must
not have its copyright compromised with third parties or be
participating in other contests. The central theme should explore
Venezuelanity in two categories: local stories and contemporary social reality.
In relation to the presentation of plays, they must
be written in Spanish, have a minimum length of 20 and a maximum of 30
pages on a letter-size sheet, and have the title
signed with the pseudonym in the header of the text. The file format must be Word, with 12-point Arial
font and 1.5 line spacing. This file must be sent via
email to the following official contest address:

Regarding registration and documentation, the rules specify that,
together with the play, the
following precautions must be sent to the email: copy of the identity card, updated RIF, the registration form and the
form of the affidavit of acceptance of the rules of
the 1st State Playwright Competition, which will be provided once the applicant communicates by
email.
Once the process is completed, the CNT will send an acknowledgment of receipt
confirming receipt to the official email. If you do not receive
such an accusation, the institution will not be responsible for any complaint.

After completing the call process, the jury, which will be
composed of specialists in performing arts, will give its verdict after evaluating the
works, the winners will be notified and will be announced in various media outlets in the country and officially on the social networks of the CNT.
The prize for first place in each of the 23 states and the Capital District will be 14,000 bolivars, certified and dramatized reading; for second place, certified and dramatized reading; and for third place, certified.
