This Friday, in statements given at the headquarters of the Foreign Elections Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Acting Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri Kani stated that, despite the efforts of Iran's vice-consulate in Canada, it proved impossible to organize voting in this country.

“Unfortunately, the only country that harmed Iran's democracy was Canada, which publicly prevented hundreds of thousands of Iranians from participating,” Baqeri Kani said.

According to information published by Hispantv, the senior diplomat stressed that the Canadian government, by denying permission for Iranian electoral activities, emits another sign of enmity against the Iranian nation and shows the world that it is not honest in its claims to defend democracy.

He also clarified that any announcement of results that does not come from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or speculations about the results of certain schools abroad are pure lies.
