The vice-president for Community Councils and Communes of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and candidate for deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Arreaza, proposed this Tuesday, May 13, to strongly promote the renewal of the spokespersons of the People's Power.

During the radio program Entre Comunes, broadcast on Radio Libre Negro Primero 101.1 FM, Arreaza said that “I urge Jorge Rodríguez and all those who will be elected, that in this process of proclamation between May 2025 and January 2026 we activate the renewal of the spokespersons of the Community Councils, the Communal Parliament and the Communes to reach January 5th with everything organized”.

Arreaza had as guests in the study the candidate for the AN for Caracas, Carmen Zerpa, and the candidate for the state Miranda, Gabriela Peña, reported on the PSUV website.

For his part, Zerpa affirmed that organized Popular Power and communities in general are very clear about what has happened in past elections (National Assembly of 2015) and who they are going to vote for on May 25.

“They are clear about the damage that the opposition did to the country and to the national economic system, people are upset with them because of the damage they did to the country and in this electoral process they will not come out to vote for them,” he said.

He noted that youth participation broke records in the Electoral Simulacrum last Sunday, May 10, on a national scale. “The process was quick and national participation increased,” he added.

In this direction, the candidate Gabriela Peña stressed that after winning the elections, the exercise of the moral power of the people must be carried out and preventive control applied in the communities.

“We need to continue with an Assembly that defends the Homeland, that generates debate, that promotes citizen participation and that grants the necessary permissions to the President. We hope that those who are elected will continue to advance on the basis of the Government plan, with the Communes being the epicenter of everything,” he said.

In a telephone contact, the candidate for re-election by the Government of Monagas, Ernesto Luna, was invited, who asserted that, “we are in the midst of democratic victory and the different sectors of the state are full of hope to improve the future of communities together with Popular Power.”
