A new CANTV Ultra Zone was activated in downtown Caracas, specifically in Plaza El Venezolano. In this way, the company has 52 spaces of this type installed in the Capital District, where users can easily access high-speed Internet by scanning a QR code.
The president of CANTV, MG. Iván Rafael Hernández Dala, pointed out that this initiative is part of the process of modernizing old telephone booths, to provide the population with access to connectivity in high-traffic public spaces.
Las Ultra Zones, according to a press release from the company, operate on the fiber optic network, ensuring a fast and stable connection for those who travel through these spaces.
Grisel Companucci, spokeswoman for the Altagracia Telecommunications Technical Board, Circuit 2, in Caracas said: “This is a way to help the people, something social to keep us connected. By modernizing old telephone booths, people will be able to enjoy WiFi without wasting their mobile data.”
Esta action is framed in policies aimed at democratizing access to communication and new technologies, in coordination with the Technical Telecommunications Boards at the national level.
