The modernization of telecommunications in the Apure and Portuguese states is progressing with the development of CANTV's fiber-optic infrastructure, which will soon allow homes, businesses and public institutions to be connected to high-speed Internet services.
As part of this deployment, the construction of optical ports began in locations such as Elorza, in Apure, and Araure, in Portuguesa, through the implementation of GPON technology.
In the state of Apurea, the work involves the laying and fusion of more than 14 kilometers of optical fiber to bring connectivity to sectors such as Centro, Mereyal, Chamisero, Las Veguitas, Quinta Simón and José Antonio Páez.
Simultaneously, in Portuguesa, networks are being laid from the Acarigua telephone exchange to Araure, with the objective of connecting the Los Baraures macro sector and communities such as Los Molinos, Miraflores, Terrazas de San José, Los Robles and the Industrial Zone.
These actions, according to a press release, are part of the technological transformation process aimed at progressively replacing copper networks with optical fiber, which will make it possible to offer services such as Aba Ultra, Aba TV GO and IP Telephony with greater stability, capacity and speed.
In the Los Llanos region, Cantv has built more than 40,000 optical ports, consolidating the advance of connectivity in productive and social sectors.
