The National Anonymous Telephone Company of Venezuela (CANTV) is making progress in the optimization of public management in the state of Mérida, through the incorporation of fiber optic services in strategic institutions of the entity.

During 2026, the telephone company deployed solutions such as Aba Ultra, Aba TV GO and IP Telephony in organizations linked to key sectors such as security, housing, public services and food sovereignty.

According to a press release, among the connected institutions are the Integral Defense Operational Zone No. 22 (ZODI), the Autonomous Municipal Police Institute of the Libertador municipality, the Libertador Municipal Council, the Municipal Autonomous Institute for Housing and Habitat, the Directorate of Ecosocialism of the Government of Mérida, the Regional Company Andean Seeds (SEMACA), Mercal and the Aguas de Mérida hydrological plant.

Jesús Dávila, a worker at Aguas de Mérida, said that the addition of Aba Ultra improves connection speed and optimizes key processes such as billing, commercial management and user service. These actions are part of the deployment aimed at the progressive replacement of copper networks with optical fiber, with the objective of guaranteeing more stable, efficient services in line with the technological demands of the public administration.
