With a total of 10 qualified athletes, the
state of Carabobo became the main protagonist of the first day of the karate
qualifier, which is taking place at the José Joaquín “Papa”
Carrillo Gymnasium, in Parque Miranda, and which grants places to the 2026 Youth National Sports Games.
The day was marked by a high
technical level in the individual kata and kumite modalities, both women's and
men's, where delegations from all over the country sought to ensure their passage to
the highest youth event.
In the women's kata, Isabella
Castillo, Isabella Marchena (Miranda), Isabella Pereira (Delta Amacuro), Andrea
Moros (Nueva Esparta), Sophia Castro (Guárico), Annabella Acevedo (Táchira),
Daniela Espinoza (Cojedes) and Kelis Aguilar (Caracas), were the first to get a pass to the sports joust,
At the same time, in the men's kata Gabriel
Azuaje de Miranda, Leonardo Cariel (La Guaira), Elierd Caro (Aragua), Enzo
Quintana (Carabobo), Alejandro Escalona (Lara), Fabián Rojas (Guárico), Ronaldo
Mendoza (Trujillo) and Dominic Irigoyen (Caracas), stood out with a solid presence on the mat.
