The commander of the Caracas Fire Department, Pablo Antonio Palacios, reported that the fire department is keeping an eye on any contingency in the face of the rains recorded this Saturday afternoon in the capital.
Through his Telegram channel, Palacios urged drivers to take extreme precautions to avoid accidents while traveling on the city's main roads.
“For drivers who travel along the main highways and avenues in Caracas (such as the Gran Cacique Guaicaipura Highway or Boyacá Avenue), it is recommended to maintain a reduced speed, maximum caution, turn on the assistive lights and increase the distance between vehicles to avoid hydroplaning,” he said.
He also recalled that, in situations of risk,
floods or emergencies in the Metropolitan Area of Caracas, citizens
can contact emergency services through Ven-911, 0800
Caracas or the number 0212-545-45-45.
