Caracas will celebrate the burriquita tradition this coming May 10

The Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, during the meeting of cultivators of the traditional burriquita in the town of Petare in the state of Miranda, reported that next May 10, the city of Caracas will be the center of this Venezuelan tradition as part of the celebration of one more year of creation and of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela Mi Patria Querida.

Also, according to information from Venezolana de Televisión, she indicated that this meeting helps the population to contemplate the evolution of this tradition in each community. “They are not ornaments, they are not decorations, they are the expression of a sense of national identity,” he said.

For his part, the cultor of the burriquita of Choroní, Pablo Ayala, expressed the optimism that the members of the movement of burriquita cultivators throughout the country have maintained, because of the support that the Bolivarian Government has maintained in each community. “Once again we all stand in front of each other to highlight the demonstration and once again to know ourselves,” he said.

The national and state authorities present at the Miranda regional meeting awarded awards to all the cultivators who have consolidated this cultural heritage that demonstrates the identity of each Venezuelan.
