In the community of Guarenas, in the state of Miranda, the Oropeza Castillo House of Culture was rehabilitated, a project prioritized in the National Popular Consultation. This renovated space will favor more than 300 boys and girls with cultural workshops, reflecting the commitment of Popular Power to cultural development and the preservation of Venezuelan traditions.
The improvements included the repair of ceilings and floors, as well as the construction of a functional kitchen. The cultural center was also equipped with musical instruments, such as guitars, drums, guitars, and others, to strengthen artistic training in the region.
The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Identity and Cultural Diversity, Ignacio Barreto; the governor of Miranda, Elio Serrano; the mayor of Guarenas, Freddy Rodríguez, and representatives of the community. The authorities and neighbors toured the renovated facilities, which now have improved spaces for the development of cultural and recreational activities.
Barreto highlighted community initiative and the focus on culture as a fundamental need: “This space will become a training center for boys, girls and young people, to strengthen our values through music, dance and other artistic expressions. In addition, it will host the Great Mission Viva Venezuela, My Beloved Homeland,” he said.
He also took the opportunity to call on other communes and communal circuits to replicate this model of cultural self-management: “The battle is for the defense of identity, our sovereignty and cultural values, which represent a fundamental tool for strengthening and confronting challenges in the face of the enemy,” he said.
