Casa Pulpería de Ezequiel Zamora was inaugurated in the state of Aragua

On the occasion of the 304th anniversary
of the founding of Villa de Cura, in the state of Aragua, the
Pulpería House of the General of the Sovereign People “Ezequiel Zamora Correa” was inaugurated, a space
designed to preserve the historical and cultural memory linked to the federalist leader.
The
activity began with a solemn session in which the “City
of Villa de Cura” Order was awarded to personalities from the region, followed by a tour of the
facilities led by Governor Joana Sánchez, Mayor
Anahís Palacios, the Deputy Minister of Identity and Cultural Diversity, Ignacio Barreto, and representatives of the People's Power.
During
the inauguration, Barreto emphasized that the new venue is a space of
memory aimed at strengthening Venezuelanism and knowledge of national history.
In addition, he noted that the infrastructure recreates the place where Ezequiel Zamora's old grocery store
operated and will serve as a museum and cultural space for the community.
The Pulpería
House exhibits historical documents, weapons used during the
Federal War and different themed rooms dedicated to the life of the peasant leader.
Among them, “Civil Thought”, focused on the ideological formation of
Zamora, and “The Federal Warrior”, focused on his role during the Federal War
and the Battle of Santa Inés, stands out.
In this regard, the governor of the entity, Joana Sánchez, stated that the project is part of an articulated
management between institutions and Popular Power, aimed at
strengthening areas such as culture and education in the entity.
The day concluded with the unveiling of a statue of Ezequiel Zamora in the central courtyard of the venue, as well as activities dedicated to highlighting the historical legacy of Villa de Cura, a city known as the “Puerta del Llano” and linked to important episodes in Venezuelan history.
