On the occasion of the 304th anniversary of the founding of Villa de Cura, in the state of Aragua, the Pulpería House of the General of the Sovereign People “Ezequiel Zamora Correa” was inaugurated, a space designed to preserve the historical and cultural memory linked to the federalist leader.

The activity began with a solemn session in which the “City of Villa de Cura” Order was awarded to personalities from the region, followed by a tour of the facilities led by Governor Joana Sánchez, Mayor Anahís Palacios, the Deputy Minister of Identity and Cultural Diversity, Ignacio Barreto, and representatives of the People's Power.

During the inauguration, Barreto emphasized that the new venue is a space of memory aimed at strengthening Venezuelanism and knowledge of national history. In addition, he noted that the infrastructure recreates the place where Ezequiel Zamora's old grocery store operated and will serve as a museum and cultural space for the community.

The Pulpería House exhibits historical documents, weapons used during the Federal War and different themed rooms dedicated to the life of the peasant leader. Among them, “Civil Thought”, focused on the ideological formation of Zamora, and “The Federal Warrior”, focused on his role during the Federal War and the Battle of Santa Inés, stands out.

In this regard, the governor of the entity, Joana Sánchez, stated that the project is part of an articulated management between institutions and Popular Power, aimed at strengthening areas such as culture and education in the entity.

The day concluded with the unveiling of a statue of Ezequiel Zamora in the central courtyard of the venue, as well as activities dedicated to highlighting the historical legacy of Villa de Cura, a city known as the “Puerta del Llano” and linked to important episodes in Venezuelan history.
