From October 10 to November 7, the Seminar “Thinking and Making the City: Counterhegemonic Experiences in the Production of Contemporary Space in Latin America and the Caribbean” will be held in Caracas, an initiative organized by the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies Rómulo Gallegos (CELARG).

The training activity will take place in a mixed mode (face-to-face and online) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and will address issues such as urban communal politics and autonomy in Mexico City, popular organization in the transformation of the city, critical concepts of urban planning in Latin America and the Caribbean, among others.

This seminar will include the participation of academics and activists from Mexico and Venezuela, who will share their experiences in relation to popular production and urban processes.

The initiative seeks to open a space for critical reflection, collective dialogue and knowledge exchange to build alternatives that allow urban spaces to be redefined as a place of development for the well-being of peoples.
