CENAL announced Grants to Encourage Literary Creation 2026

The National Book Center (CENAL) invited Venezuelan or foreign writers residing in the country to apply for their 2026 Literary Creation Encouragement Grants with the presentation of original and unpublished projects, from June 1 to August 31.
The categories to participate are Narrative, Dramaturgy, Biographies, Testimonials and Chronicles; Literature for Children and Youth and Film Research, the latter in partnership with the National Cinemateca Foundation for its 60th anniversary.
The bases with the requirements and specifications of the projects to participate are published on the CENAL website.
Works of literary creation will be received by CENAL digitally through an electronic application form, to which the file with the project must be attached.
As part of the eligibility requirements, literary creation projects must be written in Spanish or in one of the original languages. In addition, the scholarship will be awarded for a period of six (6) months. The last payment will be against work completed.

The Grants to Encourage Literary Creation 2026 are part of the actions of CENAL, an entity attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC), to promote books, reading, the generation of new authors and critical thinking.
