New sessions of the chairs of literature for teachers, writers, university students and researchers organized and promoted by the National Book Center (CENAL) opened in the states of Mérida, Monagas and Nueva Esparta.

At the Juan Félix Sánchez House of Culture in the capital of Merida and at the Center for the Development of Educational Quality in the municipality of Mariño, on the island of Margarita, the “Chair of Children's and Youth Literature” began. Meanwhile, the “Chair of Venezuelan Literature” is being held at the Office of the Historian of Maturín.

These training programs began in early June and will run through August. Facilitators with recognized experience in cultural management, writing and the promotion of reading are in charge of conducting it.

The poet and reading promoter Mirimarit Parada teaches the “Chair of Children's and Youth Literature” in Nueva Esparta, on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

José Gregorio González, author of publications for girls and boys, directs the “Chair of Children's and Youth Literature” in Mérida, every Wednesday, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In Monagas, the renowned writer Miguel Mendoza is teaching the “Chair of Venezuelan Literature” on Thursdays, starting at 9:00 a.m.

The “Chair of Children's and Youth Literature” brings participants closer to the different experiences, methodologies, and developments in this area. For its part, the “Chair of Venezuelan Literature” allows us to learn about the development of this artistic expression in the country, from its inception to the present day.

These spaces for teaching aspects related to literature are part of the activities of CENAL, an entity attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC), to promote books, reading and critical thinking throughout the country.
