The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, received this Monday the ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Kingdom of Spain, Gladys Gutiérrez, who was called for consultation, following the interventionist statements of the Spanish Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, who described the constitutional mandate of President Nicolás Maduro like “a dictatorship”.

Through his official channel on the social network Telegram, Foreign Minister Gil explained that the meeting with the diplomat was held with the objective of “analyzing the current diplomatic situation and defining the actions to be followed in defense of Venezuelan sovereignty.”

These actions come after the Government of the Iberian nation granted political asylum to former extreme right candidate Edmundo González Urruti after negotiations with the Venezuelan Executive, despite the fact that the leader has an arrest warrant, issued 5 days earlier by the Public Ministry (MP), for the “alleged commission of crimes of usurpation of office”.

In addition, the representative of Venezuelan extremism is involved in the “forging of a public document”, in relation to the electoral records of the presidential elections of last July 28. He is also accused of allegedly “inciting disobedience of laws”, “conspiracy”, “sabotage and damage to systems and association”.
