“All of Venezuela's actions have been framed in the application of International Law, the Geneva Agreement signed between the parties and the defense of the sovereign rights that correspond to us,” said the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Iván Gil.
The statements of the head of Venezuelan diplomacy, through the social network, are in response to the interventionist statements of the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC, who is trying to interfere in Venezuelan affairs with respect to the Essequibo Defense Act and by taking a position to support the guerrilla actions of the Government of Guyana.
“We are victims of a campaign of aggression from Guyana, sadly exploited in a violent plan against Venezuela that seeks to destabilize the region, profiting a political class through the illegal exploitation of our territory and making use of natural resources that do not belong to it,” he said.
