The 26 tons of humanitarian supplies to Cuba and 20 tons to Jamaica arrived this Thursday in these nations in response to the recent climatic effects that these sister peoples have suffered.

“We have come to Cuba to offer a helping hand of solidarity to the dear Cuban people, who are facing the challenges caused by recent climate shocks. We would like to express our gratitude to Niurka Bell, a member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party in Santiago de Cuba, for her warm welcome. From here, we send all the Cuban people a fraternal embrace on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro and we reiterate our unwavering friendship,” said Foreign Minister Yván Gil Pinto.

This act of solidarity coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Bolivar-Martí Agreement, signed on October 30, 2000 by Commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro. This agreement has been fundamental to strengthen the bonds of friendship between our nations, promoting solidarity and economic and social development, inspired by the ideals of Simón Bolívar and José Martí.
