Chancellor Yván Gil received style copies of Italy's new ambassador

The Minister of Popular
Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, received this Monday the style
copies of the new Italian ambassador appointed to the
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Giovanni Umberto de Vito, who served as Chargé d'Affaires
of the diplomatic mission of the European country in Caracas.
The
protocol ceremony was held at the Casa Amarilla Antonio José de Sucre, where the Venezuelan
Foreign Minister reiterated the willingness of the Bolivarian Government to strengthen
diplomatic and bilateral relations, “based on respect for the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples.”
“Our approach
is focused on mutual cooperation and on providing support to our respective Italian and Venezuelan
communities,” Gil added in a message posted on
his Telegram channel.
De Vito has
served as Chargé d'Affaires of Italy in Venezuela since 2023. He was
Ambassador in Dakar, Senegal (2020 - 2023), also accredited in Mali (until
August 2021), Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Cape Verde. Previously, he was the head
of the Italian diplomatic mission in Malta (2013 - 2017).
