The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Lin Jian, expressed his opposition to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)'s move into the Asia-Pacific region.

According to Lin, NATO should maintain its focus as a regional defense organization and avoid turning to Asia-Pacific to avoid conflicts and undermine stability in the region. In addition, he urged the Alliance to work for peace, stability and security at the global level.

The Atlantic Alliance Summit will be held in Washington from July 9 to 11. During the event, issues such as military support for Kiev, collective defense against Russia and collaboration with Asian countries in the midst of tensions between the West and China will be addressed, according to a note from Sputnik.
