Members of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps
(CICPC) were able to capture a member of
the criminal organization Rapiditos de La
Veguita, dedicated to the falsification of documents in Caracas.
According to
information published by the director general of this body, Douglas Rico, the arrest
was achieved after painstaking fieldwork carried out by officials of the Directorate of Investigations
of Vehicle Theft and Theft.
The detainee, identified
as Providencio Antonio López González, “who was part of a network
dedicated to the preparation and distribution of falsified documents, using
modern printing and falsification techniques to produce documents that
pretended to be legitimate, to be used for various illegal purposes, such as
transfers of vehicles, removal of these before the courts of the
Metropolitan Area of Caracas and vehicle traffic,” Rico said.
Among the items
seized, stand out “two forged offices ordering the delivery of the vehicle and
change of status from recovered undelivered to delivered, of a Ford Lariat,
license plate A04AU6P (recovered at the time of López's arrest), 27 false vehicle registration certificates
, 15 false driving licenses and two cell phones”.
