Cinemateca Nacional will offer workshops as part of the CineEncuentro Program

A total of four proposals, completely free of charge, mark the start of the CineEncuentro Training Program of the National Cinematheque Foundation in 2024, all of them in person, with workshops held once a week for a month.
This time, the public interested in training in various areas related to the seventh art will be able to choose between the workshops of Introduction to Documentary Cinema, The Art of Telling Stories with Light, Management and Administration of Products for Film and TV or The Role of the Antagonist. Creation of the villain character.
The first workshop to begin, prepared for Tuesday, March 5, 12, 19, 26 and April 2, between 9:00am and 12:00 m will be The Art of Telling Stories with Light, which will be facilitated by the director of photography and camera operator, with more than 20 years of experience in film and TV, Frank Toledo.
Throughout this training program, participants are expected to learn about the typical characteristics of light, techniques for its management, lighting schemes, control and modification of light. Then, on Wednesday, March 6, 13, 20, 27 and April 3, between 10:00am and 1:00pm, the workshop on the Role of Antagonist will be held. Creation of the villain character, by the teacher, stage director, acting coach and theater and film actor, Arnaldo Mendoza. The idea of this proposal is to explain the importance of the role of the antagonistic character as a generator of dramatic conflict.
In parallel, on the same days as the previous one, but between 2:00 and 5:00pm, the historian, documentalist and writer, Maykel Navas, will be responsible for offering the Introduction to Documentary Cinema workshop, designed to share with participants knowledge about the fundamentals necessary for the production of a documentary film.
Finally, on Thursday, March 7, 14, 21 and 28, from 9:00am to 12:00pm, the film and TV producer, audiovisual director, and university professor, Carlos Mendoza, will facilitate the workshop on Management and Administration of Products for Cinema and TV, who will share with the participants his knowledge and experience regarding the management skills necessary to manage artistic projects for film and TV.
